lift for chevy IFS

I have a 94 chevy k2500 I now am in need of a lift. I dont have too much money but I can buy a Tough country 6 inch lift for 1400 plus 1000 to install. Id do the install my self but I live in the dorms so no tools or place to work. Would this lift be good enough. Or do I need to spend more.
P.S I would love to do a IFS to SA conversion
