RUBICON TRAIL: AUGUST 28, 2004 WORK PLAN - GATEKEEPER
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here is an outline of our plans (so far).
We will be doing two possible projects this weekend. One will be the repair of Gatekeeper and rehab of the Gatekeeper area. The other will perhaps be some rehab and revegetation along sections of the trail. This one is still tentative as of July 23. More soon. But we will be doing the Gatekeeper project. See below.
We will be using the Recreational Incident Command System (RICS) for all projects.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Gatekeeper Project -- Incident Commander: Scott Johnston (Cruzila)
PLANS:
Objectives are to:
1. Repair and re-establish the Gatekeeper area with concrete fill between the rocks to meet the goals of last year's project, which was to stabilize the dirt areas between the rocks.
2. Rehab the area around Gatekeeper; close other bypasses; and rehab vegetation as needed.
3. Use concrete from old kiosk to fill in as needed. Leave no rebar extended from conrete. Fill with additional concrete and make look natural.
Briefing will be announced, but plan on being at the Spillway area, early in the morning.
LOGISTICS:
Please bring your own safety gear and personal essentials (gloves, hard hats, goggles, first aid kit, drinks and lunch). Concrete has already been provided for (donated). Camping, for those staying over night is available at Airport Flat, Gerle Creek and Loon Lake Campgrounds. RV campers will most likely enjoy Airport Flat the best.
COMMUNICATIONS:
CB Channel 2; FRS Channel 5 for Cruzila (IC) or Music Man (Del).
