Hi all just woundering if anyone has made it up fall river road yet , I was thinking about going fishing this weekend up there. I have been trying to get up there for the last 2-3 months and I get about 1/4 mile from the lake and there is to much snow! I was up ther about 3 weeks ago and had to pull out a 99 ram full size truck that got stuck up there on the trail. Good thing for him my friend and I were trying to get up there to do so fishing. It's a long hike out if you get stuck! Thanks David
Hmm was considering taking my pup up there this weekend in the mall cruiser (exploder), but not sure what to expect. Did you find out anything? Thanks!

Iam a new member Just joined on the 12th of may. I live in the town of Alice a few minutes from the resivior and lochlomand lake. I tried to get up there about three days ago on the 9th of may I had no luck the drifts are still to big. I had to winch myself out of a drift along with a Ford F250. I own a 1965 Dodge M37 military truck on 36 Inch Super Swamper TSL's. Today the 12th of may when I left my house there was about 3 inches of new snow before 4:00 PM
I will try to keep a snow posting on this site for Fall River Resivior.
Thanks Dlents and welcome! Do you have a picture of your Dodge? My dad owns a 1968 Power Wagon. It's fun to drive and someday we'll restore it. Maybe like the model you see in Cabelas.
Anyone know of a place my pup and I can practice retriving in the water without many other people around?

We were up there about 3 weeks ago. Had snow on the trail most of the way. We got as far as where the trail splits to Chinns Lake are Fall River Res. where the snow got too deep for my 3" lifted XJ (I was busting trail for the group and had chained all 4 tires). We've had a lot of warm weather since then although there has also been one more storm.
As soon as it's passible, I could get in there for some cold water training! Chesapeakes are known for their cold water tolerance, so it'd be cool to see what my pup would do!
Only a few more miles from the turnoff to the lake. As you said, it may be open enough by now.

I might run up there tonite to check it out. If I do, I'll let you guys know. Just a stock pathfinder, so far, but I made it up there last year in a bronco II a week before Memorial day, so I was hoping this year would be open even earlier. If I head up, I'll let you all know what I find.
Went up fall river road today. The trail to the resevoir is now open. Chinns lake isn't quite passable. You can make it all the way to the left hand switchback and then the snow drifts are too deep. The lake is within walking distance. It should be open in a few weeks or a couple of days if some rigs with 40's and winch get up there!
