Access: From Idaho Springs, CO, exit I-70 onto U.S. 40 at exit 232 and proceed west past Empire and through Berthoud Falls. Exit left at the sign for Henderson Mine before the switchback onto Jones Pass Road. Just before the Henderson Mine guardhouse, turn right on road 144. Take this short dirt road to the trailhead, the four wheel drive road begins at this point. The road is closed just over the pass so you will need to return on the same route. The road is blocked by snow most of the summer, so contact the Clear Creek Ranger District for road conditions.
