Barbour Fork Clear Creek, CO: Trail Head: N 39?42 908, W 105?33 305 Delorme CO Atlas & Gazeteer pg: 39, 6-C Nearby Trails: Coming Soon. Access: From I-70, take exit 240 north into Idaho Springs. Follow Miner Street to Soda Creek Road, which goes under the interstate and past Indian Springs Resort. Follow Soda Creek Road for approximately 3 miles to a large turn out. The trail begins at this point, climbing up the valley across meadows. This trail is closed to motorized vehicles in the winter until June 15 to minimize disturbances during the elk calving season. ![]() Trail: I ran Barbour Fork earlier this summer. I don't think the trail actually opens until after June 15th, so plan on running it after that. The trail itself wasn't very difficult and didn't offer up any real obstacles. Though I stayed on the marked trails, the higher elevations lead to very tight sections. I had to turn around a few times because the trails became too narrow for my XJ. There are some nice meadows and picnic areas near the bottom. The scenery wasn't that spectacular either, you never really get out of the trees.
